windows and doors (and stairs - oh my!)

We didn't take as many photos as we should have this week, but trust us, lots of windows and doors went in. Unfortunately, the north-facing hall windows and doors did not get in before an extremely unusual and heavy rain storm drove in from the north. We got soaked. I was mopping at 6:30 Friday morning, and D. mopped for the rest of the day. A pity, because the rest of the week he had been quite cheery about the progress of electrician, plumber and HVAC crews.

These three trades' work includes retrofitting the pre-existing 2nd floor as well as hooking up the new floors. This week, HVAC equipment was installed in my former clothes closet. In a strangely related event, D. sent several pieces of furniture off to be reupholstered (they were in the way... he's only been thinking about upholstery since the day I met him!) The electrician's work includes new lighting all over, which requires cutting chunks out of the sheetrock ceiling over the dining table, etc., which generates just a little bit of dust....

The lack of photos this week is an opportunity to correct an inexplicable oversight: we didn't publish these pics of the installation of the very artistic stairs leading from the 4th floor to the observation deck:
