"Secure" storage

There was a theory underpinning this widely ridiculed 'live in the house while you renovate it' experiment. Now even that shred of rationality has been abandoned. Turns out there had been much more construction going on in the 'safe storage zone' than I had realized (for example, boxing the full length of the green beam), and much less bothering with protective plastic sheeting. Well heck, if everything's coated in sheetrock dust already, why bother having that protective wall separating storage from construction? I hastily moved a few precious boxes of childhood scrapbooks and teddybears, then escaped to an alumni reunion for the weekend.

Meanwhile, construction in the zone continued - primarily the inside finishes of the long, high clerestory across the center of the 2nd floor. Up on the 4th floor, almost all the walls are painted (white) and most of the floor is done. The new floors will be oak, with border accents of walnut. The busiest border pattern is in the playroom.
