Connecting the dots to The Perch and beyond

Boring, but important: the garage floor is finished. The colorful cement crew broke up all the old concrete leveled the underlying soil, and poured a nice smooth new floor. We're becoming blase - seen one concrete pour, seem 'em all.

Much more dramatically, the entire frame of all the new sections has been completed, and we can stand on the Perch! Let's start with the end-of-week drama shot (further enhanced by a dramatic friend):
What you see is the original building in orange (Tuscan terracotta, whatever), the 3rd floor bedroom and 4th floor office partially enclosed in DensGlass on the left, 3rd floor office & guest room on the right. Above the 4th floor is the elevator and stairway bulkhead (see prior post), the roof of which is the perch. Above the perch is the bulkhead for the spiral staircase one will climb to get out onto the perch.

At roughly 73 feet above street level, the welders are now high enough to wear 5-point harnesses as they near completion on the elevator shaft.
